New C4000 Entry/Exit Light Curtain from Sick

The C 4000 Entry/Exit is ideal for applications where material is automatically transported into a hazardous area while access by workers must be reliably prevented. The C 4000 Entry/Exit provides an alternative to muting in a self-contained, cost-effective solution, requiring no muting sensors, switches or lamps.

The C 4000 Entry/Exit uses Self-Teach Dynamic Blanking to discriminate between workers and materials. The Entry/Exit solution requires half the installation time of a standard muting solution and fewer components.

The C 4000 Entry/Exit relies on object properties to build a profile for the objects. The profile includes the object size (width), the distance between objects, the speed at which the object is moving, etc. Once the profile for the object has been learned, the light curtain is able to discriminate between the transport skid and workers by focusing on the profile. The Self-Teach Dynamic Blanking algorithm allows for bi-directional material flow.
